My husband and I are moving to Charlotte, North Carolina at the end of October. This week we officially hit the one month countdown. For so long, it was just an idea, which then became a conversation, which turned into a plan, and then we actually started taking the steps to make it happen, and now it’s quickly becoming reality. We’ve loved living in Chicago for the past five years. It’s really an amazing city—there’s always something to do, a new restaurant to try, it’s on the lake and about 5(ish) months out of the year, there’s really no other place you’d want to be. I’m not quite ready to say goodbye to Chicago, and especially not to our wonderful friends here, but this is a longer-term, big-picture move for my husband and me. It’s something we knew we’d want to do someday, even when we first moved here.
And since my time with this beautiful city is quickly dwindling, I’m trying to make the most of the days we have left together—making even more memories and soaking it all in. Today’s post is a look back on my September in pictures.
Words of wisdom from the Homeslice patio
There’s no shortage of pizza places in Chicago. My husband and I shared Homeslice’s “Clay Bacon.” It’s chicken, bacon, cheese and a ranch sauce and it’s delicious.
