Fashionable Fall

Last weekend, I gathered all of my 30-year-old, grown-ass woman strength and the skinniest skinny jeans I own, and went back to college. A few of my best girlfriends and I decided to relive our glory days at Indiana University and tailgate for the football game. Every time we go back, which we usually try to do once a year, it somehow seems that they, actual college students, look younger and younger…which must mean, I look…the same? Right? Nothing like a weekend back at your alma mater to remind you just how much changes in a year. I’m reassured by the fact that we haven’t exactly tackled the grown-up, alumni tailgate yet (i.e. more liquor than food)—-this makes me feel closer to an irresponsible college student and less like an adult. And while I may not be able to drink a beer without getting heartburn and struggle to stay out past midnight, there’s always something nostalgic and wonderful about going back to Bloomington, Indiana.

This trip back to college, the first tailgate and college football game of the season was my official kick-off into fall. And like I mentioned a few weeks ago, fall is my absolute favorite season. One of my favorite parts of fall has always been the fashion. Even when I was young and my grandma took me back-to-school shopping at Limited Too, I felt the excitement of a new season, a new wardrobe. If you follow any clothing stores or designers, magazines, actresses, or fashion bloggers on social media, then I’m sure for the past few days your feed has been flooded with New York Fashion Week posts. And while this is by no means runway worthy, I thought I’d at least pay my respects to this most fashionable week and put together some of my staples for this season.
