Does anyone have a cake I can borrow? I know it’s unhealthy to eat your feelings, but this week has me wanting to shove my face into some baked goods and not resurface until next Friday. Or, cry. And, the first option sounds way better to me. Ugh. I swear I’ve had more dreams about work this week than I’m willing to admit. (Or, maybe those would be considered nightmares?) Either way you look at it, spreadsheets are not pizza, ice cream or Channing Tatum and they shouldn’t be in your dreams. Ever. (And, just in case you were wondering, a VLOOKUP in Excel is just as confusing when you’re sleeping as it is when you’re awake. Help!)

This weekend I’m looking forward to spending some much needed quality time with two of my best girlfriends. After a week like this, that’s just what the doctor ordered. Have any fun plans for the weekend?

Currently pumped about this 30-day upper body challenge:30 Day Arms & Shoulders

I’ve been in search of a good arm workout. When I hit the gym, I tend to go heavy on the cardio. And, although I’m far from a fitness expert, I know strength training is important. This 30-Day Upper Body workout from Refinery29 claims it will transform your arms and shoulders. I don’t know about that, but it seems like one of the better options I’ve come across—simple, easy to follow moves and you only need dumbbells. I’m starting it next week. Who wants to do it with me?

My husband and I tried a BLT pizza, like this one from Lana’s Cooking, a few weeks ago, loved it, and decided to try and recreate it ourselves. We usually make pizza at least once a month. We buy the pre-made dough from Trader Joe’s, load it up with cheese, veggies and sometimes pepperoni, or bacon. (Who I am kidding? Bacon, always.) It’s a fun alternative to delivery and I think it tastes better. You should try it!

Currently trying to remind myself:Just Let That Sh*t Go

As I’ve mentioned, it’s been a rough week. And clearly, I’m still not over it. But, although it’s tough to do, I’m trying to remind myself that a bad week doesn’t mean anything more than a bad week. It doesn’t equal failure or defeat. And it certainly doesn’t measure my self-worth on any level. So, if you’ve been struggling this week, just remind yourself to not let yesterday use up too much of today, and just let that sh*t go. (Found on Bananas & Bellinis)

These are currently my favorite skincare products, especially Dr. Brandt’s Pores No More: Pore Refining Primer (it’s amazing, y’all). I’ve used Dr. Jart+ products for years now—they’re a little pricey but you can really see and feel the difference. A few months ago, I had a terrible breakout along my jawline and Kate Somerville’s EradiKate and Fresh’s Umbrian Clay Mask really helped get me through.

Currently crushing on Clare V. Flat Clutches:

I’ve had my eye on the Clare V. flat clutches for a long while now—specifically that tan and black one. It would be a bit of a splurge, but I’m currently feeling like “treat yo self.” Aren’t they gorg?

Currently wondering: Am I drinking enough water?

And my guess is probably not—too much coffee and not enough water. But, I have a feeling this refreshing mix of Strawberry, Lime, Cucumber & Mint from Back to Her Root would help inspire me to stay hydrated.

Currently thinking about the Teriyaki Bowls from GLAZE in Lincoln Park:


My husband and I love trying new restaurants. I don’t want to say that it’s our hobby, but we like to eat. He came across GLAZE Teriyaki on his way home from work one day and after checking out the online reviews, we decided to try it out. It was a quick, affordable and delicious dinner that didn’t leave us feeling over-stuffed or guilty. We both ordered the chicken & steak teriyaki combo with salad & rice. If you’re in the Chicago-Lakeview area, I say check it out!
